Pupil Premium

“Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.”

Information for parents

Students qualify as being eligible for PP if they satisfy at least one of the following:

  • They are currently entitled to Free School Meals.
  • They have received Free School Meals at any point in the last 6 years.
  • They are looked after by the Local Authority.
  • Pupils who have been adopted from care or have left care.

PP is allocated to schools so that they can address the national achievement gap between students who are eligible and those who are not. The school is charged with allocating this money to maximise student achievement in whatever way they think is most appropriate. Please refer to additional information about how this money is allocated under Pupil Premium Expenditure on the policies page of the school website.
